Etihad Airways, the Abu Dhabi carrier, is now operating a daily Airbus A380 service to Mumbai, India. Its inaugural A380 service from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai landed in the Indian city on Sunday night, though without the customary water salute that often marks the arrival of a first flight.
Etihad said in a statement it decided not to go ahead with the water salute “due to the current water crisis currently gripping the State of Maharashtra.” Also on Sunday, Emirates launched A380 flights to Taipei in Taiwan and Prague in the Czech Republic.
