FedEx placed Orders for Boeing Freighters

FEDEX EXPRESS declared it will acquire 50 Boeing 767-300Fs as part of its fleet modernization. The deal also includes options for 50 or the same type. Deliveries are scheduled between 2018 and 2023. With this order, FedEx has a backlog of 106, 767Fs with the US aircraft manufacturer.

David J Bronczek, President and Chief Executive Officer of FedEx Express President and CEO said: “Acquiring additional 767F aircraft is a continuation of our very successful air fleet modernization programme. With this induction, will enable us to reduce structural costs, improve our fuel efficiency and enhance the reliability of our global network.”

FedEx plans to retire its ageing Airbus A300-600F, McDonnell Douglas MD-11F and DC-10 freighters
